CNC Operator

Role Summary:

• The CNC Machine Operator plays a crucial role in our production process. They are responsible for operating a variety of CNC machines, ensuring precision and efficiency in machining operations. 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines for 3, 4, and 5 axis machining.
• Perform tasks such as conventional milling, drilling, fast hole drilling, and graphite shaping on metal castings, forgings, and bar stock.
• Follow specifications and set-up instructions, applying expertise in machining methods.
• Manually lift workpieces onto the machine table or use material handling equipment.
• Position and secure workpieces accurately.
• Select appropriate tooling for each job.
• If required, place tools in the automatic tool changer in the specified sequence from the process sheet.
• Record production inspection results in the computer data system.
• Monitor displays on the control panel and compare them with data from the process sheet.
• Verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machining speeds.
• Utilize precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and precision dial gauges, to ensure accuracy.
• Follow company specifications to deburr parts or components.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED; or related work experience.

Skills:

• Effective communication skills, verbally and written.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and others.
• Ability to work well within a team or independently.
