Case Study - FMCG Recruitment

Sourcing Staff for FMCG Environments

The client’s scope of work required sourcing candidates of a technical and experienced background garnered within food environments, with a high level of electrical expertise.

NES Fircroft has worked with a major supplier of FMCG goods to the UK commercial market for several years. The extremely competitive nature of the client’s work means that staff skillsets are in high demand and there is often a high turnover of personnel, both factors of which create a short supply of eligible candidates for any given role.

Candidates must have a technical and experienced background garnered within food environments, and the high level electrical expertise required considerably narrows the eligible candidate talent pool further still. In addition, some positions are based within abattoirs which poses a significant barrier towards recruiting candidates of certain beliefs.

Our Solution

NESF has assigned a dedicated discipline-specific consultant to the client with an extensive background in recruiting personnel across the food and beverages industries.

Our consultant is backed by a wider team of consultants and truly understands the industry, utilising their in-depth insight to quickly ascertain the specific role requirements in order to source key personnel ranging widely in skillset, experience and seniority for the client’s Production, Maintenance, HSE, Management and Sales divisions of the business in a timely manner with minimal impact to business operations.

Sourcing within such a competitive industry means that discrete headhunting techniques are of paramount importance. Utilising our broad LinkedIn networks and existing relationships within the industry, only the most suitable prospective candidates are approached with sensitive information surrounding the role only revealed at the very final stages.

To ensure that we supply candidates of the highest calibre, extensive interviews are performed with each candidate throughout the process, from vetting prior to short-listing to substantial interview preparation For the most senior roles, we meet with our candidates face-to-face to reinforce the level of support available to them in applying for the role.

The Results of our Support

To date we have placed 16 specialists across multiple locations nationwide. Through positive candidate performances and a solid, consistent delivery, we have proven ourselves as a sustainable business partner and have ensured direct lines of communication with key hiring managers, maintaining exceptionally good relationships that keep us engaged on a regular basis for their staffing requirements.

The quality of our candidates has been of such a high standard that on several occasions, additional roles have been created in order to secure the 2nd and 3rd choice candidates from the shortlist of talent NESF presented.
