This role is within our clients Renewable Energy business - windfarm construction projects.
The Role:This role is within the Business Services Team which offers support to all workstreams including Development, Construction and O&M. This role will predominantly be in the Development and/or Construction workstreams controlling expenditure from the Development phase through procurement and contracts to construction, commissioning and then handover to O&M. This role is a support level role (number 2)
Duties:
To prepare estimates and develop budgets through all phases of a project life cycle.
To establish cost baselines at specific points throughout the project from which to report and analyse expenditure and performance.
To track actual costs on the project to date and provide up to date forecasts against the original baseline cost budgets and AFE’s.
To reconcile costs with SAP where appropriate
To record and maintain the contingency usage & requirements throughout the course of the project.
Prepare clear and concise cost status reports for issue to the project team, management and stakeholders
To set up within SAP the requisitions requested from the project team after ensuring that the costs fall within the project budget
Processes and Systems:- To support the BSM by ensuring that processes and systems are established for the whole work effort involved from the preparation of the estimates through to the update of the data and the reporting thereof. The processes will support the Business Management System (BMS) and will be developed within the frameworks of ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001 & PAS55.
Elements of Planning may also be involved- Primavera knowledge beneficial.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:Good previous experience in a similar Project Cost Engineering/Project Controls role in a relevant industry.
A relevant degree in numerate, commercial, business or engineering discipline.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and good Word and Powerpoint skills.
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:Previous experience on large scale construction and/or development projects in a relevant industry.
Windfarm experience useful but not essential.
Previous experience of SAP.
Understanding of the economic implications of cost control on the business.
Planning/Primavera experience would be an advantage.
