Is a leading Automotive manufacturer and is currently experiencing an upturn in production with demand increasing globally.

The Role:
Scope

To take responsibility for the support of external customer development activities by enabling the maintenance of the development vehicle fleet in the area of Powertrain, Chassis and Energy Electronics systems
To perform initial investigation for all EE/A system related issues, in the vehicle development.

Key Responsibilities

- Flash programming of software and calibration to development vehicles and Quality vehicles on site and off site
- Prototype vehicle commissioning and specification update support, providing sign-off prior to handover to customer
- Fitment of instrumentation to development vehicles to support EE/A system data logging
- Data collection from development vehicles (in conjunction with Whole Vehicle and Quality)
- Download of diagnostic fault codes lists and collation for future reference
- Initial fault diagnosis of development vehicles
- Maintain vehicle rework database change list
- Develop and maintain vehicle development fleet fault management and reporting system on behalf of EE/A
- Maintain documentation of typical fault scenarios and procedures to rectify. This would form the basis for After sales and Manufacturing problem resolution procedures later in the development programme
- Liaise with Electrical system owners to facilitate issue resolution
- Develop and maintain a high level of vehicle systems knowledge for all Bentley platforms and system either directly in development by EE/A or that could influence their operation
- Investigate and analyse vehicle-based problems, identify root causes and rectification actions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Ideally a degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
- Knowledge of vehicle communications networks and diagnostic protocols
- Knowledge and experience of latest vehicle electronic systems
- Conversant with electronic hardware and software design processes
- Demonstrated experience working for an automotive manufacturer or relevant supplier
- Existing relevant knowledge and experience in Powertrain, Chassis and Energy systems as a preference
- Appreciation of sensor and actuator technologies and the methods of interfacing such components
