The Role:Fircroft have been asked to source an Instrument Engineer to provide engineering support as part of the team responsible for the engineering and integrity of all physical plant and equipment.

The Instrument Engineer will work during the LNG plant design, construction and commissioning phases. the incumbent will be responsible for the development of core elements of the Asset Integrity Management System as well as providing engineering support to the design, construction and commissioning teams.
Overall, the incumbent will manage engineering issues during the Project phases to ensure a smooth transition into the Operational phase.
Project Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate and timely technical support to all project and operational teams
• Act as the Asset Technical Authority for Instrumentation including fire and gas systems
• Develop engineering standards for the operations phase of the project
• Provide technical assistance for the development of Asset Integrity systems including but not limited to the Management of Change system and the development of the Computerised Maintenance Management System
• Assist with the development of plant and equipment maintenance strategies and procedures
• Ensure engineering compliance for the LNG plant
• Participate in design reviews during detailed design and construction
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing on behalf of Operations
• Work with Engineering Technical Authorities and the project Commissioning team to develop Commissioning test procedures
• Participation in the project quality assurance and completions management program
Operations Responsibilities:
• Responsible for reviewing and approving the strategies for managing electrical equipment in hazardous areas
• Managing the integrity of the LNG plant through maintenance, inspection and engineering change control
• Act as the Asset Technical Authority for Instrumentation (including fire and gas systems).
• Responsible for the provision of engineering support including ensuring compliance with established standards, provision of technical advice and management of critical drawings
• The monitoring and reporting Asset Integrity compliance
• Responsible for ensuring all modifications follow the Management of Change process
• Responsible for overseeing the reactive and preventative maintenance programs to ensure maximum facility uptime including critical function testing
• Responsible for defining scope of Shutdown and Major Maintenance activities
Essential Skills / Qualifications:• Demonstrated experience in an instrument engineering role, ideally involving the operation & maintenance of LNG plant or other installations involving large rotating equipment
• Experience in management of contractors
• Experience in the development of engineering processes/procedures
• Experience with, and commitment to, engineering systems, procedures particular Asset Management and Asset Integrity
• Demonstrated experience with safety management systems and commitment to safety
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:• Tertiary instrument engineering qualification and relevant experience in operational engineering support role
• Understanding of compliance regulations
• Ability to resolve issues with third parties and contractors
