The Role:Fircroft have been asked to source a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our clients regional office in Mackay.

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will form part of the North Queensland Operation team and will oversee all design and engineering deliverables.
The incumbent will act as the technical authority across the Mechanical Engineering work and, therefore, is suitable for discipline engineers rather than project engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Preparation and technical review of design/engineering deliverables
• Active participation in project risk assessments and design reviews
• Active contribution to project quality control processes
• Acting as the technical focal point for mechanical technical queries and requests for information
• Active participation in Safety in Design and constructability reviews
• Leadership and mentoring of junior team members
Essential Skills / Qualifications:• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
• RPEQ registered or able to obtain
• Extensive experience as a Mechanical Engineer on Mining projects
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:• Experience within coal processing and/or materials handling
