The Role:The incumbent will be responsible for providing reservoir engineering support to existing producing fields as required. The job holder will execute reservoir engineering work including high quality simulation studies to deliver projects as well as exploration support for new wells and new ventures.
Responsible for :
• Studying the behavior and characteristics of gas/oil reservoirs to determine the course of future development and production that will maximize profit
• Conducting reservoir engineering studies (including analytical and/or simulation techniques as appropriate)
• Generating forecasts and reserve estimates to meet internal business plans, budget and external reporting
• Formulating field development strategies and propose these to management
• Documenting technical work in a clear, concise and timely manner conforming to company requirements and standards;
• Peer review team member to ensure technical quality and to enhance value to the business of proposed activities.
• Performing well-test interpretation of existing or new wells as well as reservoir performance predictions, as well as production optimization through work-overs;
• Close interaction with operations team to maximize production volumes whilst producing within well operating envelope.
Key Accountabilities
Accountabilities:
• Analyse reservoir characteristics (open hole logging, coring, special core analysis)
• Analyse fluid properties to predict fluid behavior and physical effects (fluid sampling, analysis, equation of state, etc…)
• Analyse, design, supervise well testing, cased hole logging
• Reservoir simulation studies for exiting or new fields, optimization of the plan of development of existing or new fields.
• Integrate well-test, production data into the reservoir model to perform simulation studies and history match
• Operational follow-up of new wells and integration of information into the reservoir model
• Understand and effectively integrate multi-disciplinary data into a reservoir simulation model including reservoir description, fluid dynamics, multiphase flow behaviour.
• Plan and execute subsurface aspects of field development
• To report reserves to asset team leader
• Close interaction with production optimization team
Authority / Influence over resources:
The job holder will have responsibilities for making budget recommendations to team leader, rather than having direct budget control.
The job holder has ownership of agreeing and delivering on work programs with team leader whilst managing own time.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:- The candidate will have a track record of delivery in reservoir engineering in different reservoir systems.
- Will be an experienced and versatile reservoir engineer able to demonstrate experience in variety of fluid types, ideally in both clastic and carbonate reservoirs.
- Must have intellectual curiosity and rigor, reliability, imagination and creative thinking, autonomy, and adaptability.
- Must be a self starter with good decision-taking skills with ability to plan and organise workload effectively and a proven ability to work under pressure without sacrificing quality.
- Be a good team player with a proactive and flexible attitude, and able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Demonstrate good interaction with other subsurface disciplines, and to promote integrated working practices.
