We are seeking a talented and experienced Structural, Mechanical, and Piping Engineer to join our construction team for a major gas refinery project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and implementation of structural, mechanical, and piping systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility. Our client, a key construction company who specialises in technicial projects within the oil & gas industry, has partnered with leading provider in the energy industry, specializing in the construction and operation of gas refineries. Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to develop comprehensive construction plans and schedules.
  • Conduct detailed structural analysis and design for refinery components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Support the Construction Manager in the execution of the project’s Construction Management services
  • As SMP construction package lead, run weekly construction progress meetings with SMP subcontractor
  • Studying the preferred methods of installation, structural erection and establishing erection/assembly sequence
  • Oversee the selection and installation of mechanical equipment, such as pumps, compressors, and turbines, to meet project requirements.
  • Design and optimize piping systems to transport fluids and gases throughout the refinery, considering factors such as pressure, temperature, and flow rate.
  • Perform site inspections and quality control assessments to verify the integrity and functionality of structural, mechanical, and piping systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams during the implementation phase, troubleshooting any issues that may arise. 

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, with a focus on structural, mechanical, or piping design.
  • Proven experience in the design and construction of industrial facilities, preferably in the oil and gas sector; preferably in Australia
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAESAR II MS Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract and is located in the Western suburbs in Greater Melbourne. The role is seeking a professional to start in this role immediately. An hourly/daily rate is on offer between $90-125 per hour + super.
