The Company:Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.
The Role:Due to additional workload/contract wins, our client is currently looking to recruit an additional high calibre individual with nuclear mechanical design experience to take on the role of Mechanical Designer/Engineer.
An experienced Mechanical Designer/ Engineer with substantial Inventor experience is required for this role.
The role will involve:
Hands on Mechanical design and coordination of equipment layouts.
Production of detail designs.
Piping/HVAC design.
Use of Autodesk Inventor.
Some mechanical calculations.
Some production of mechanical documentation to support designs i.e. outline installation method statement, DJR, DAR, Design Risk Assessment, Technical Files.
Working hours are 8am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs, 2pm finish on Fridays (core hours are not negotiable)
Essential Skills / Qualifications:Experience in most of the following is required:
Experience in mechanical design and coordinating equipment layouts.
Experience producing detail designs.
Experience in piping design.
Autodesk Inventor experience. (essential)
Some experience producing mechanical calculations.
Some experience producing mechanical documentation to support designs i.e. outline installation method statement, DJR, DAR, Design Risk Assessment, Technical Files.
Good communication skills.
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:Not essential/but beneficial
Experience in FEA and the use of ‘ANSYS’ software.
Experience of design for nuclear sites/facilities.
Experience of working on projects for Sellafield site and conversant with design processes, procedures and standards.
Experience checking and design drawings/documentation.
Experience in HVAC design.
Degree Qualified.
IEng or CEng accredited, or working towards either.
