The Company:The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.
The Role:As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of the full portfolio of services, including: enquiry management, installation, commissioning and lifecycle services within the substation service Business unit. You will be accountable for the management of the Service department and will take responsibility for executing work across in the UK and overseas.
Key duties include:

Be responsible for the overall profit and loss accountability for each business stream.
Support the creation and implement the companies strategy towards the customer, through understanding the customer, its business, their strategy and their industry. Ensuring this translates into a strategic business action plan.
Delivering the Business balanced scorecard across the existing portfolio.
Maximising the scope of the existing portfolio ensuring contract renewal is achieved when desired by the organisation
Plan and drive the overall growth within the Substation Service business by increasing the portfolio as well as new seeking new business opportunities (measured by contract performance) to meet the budget targets.
Support the development of the Service strategy and create a framework that allows the team to perform effectively and deliver the full substation service portfolio.
Create and implement innovative solutions to enhance the existing portfolio.
Interact and manage key customers and their expectation of the Service product.
Ensure legal compliance for customers
Manage cooperation across the Global Business Unit
Lead and develop a mobile workforce
Manage the productivity of the department, particularly field service
Manage the people across a range of skills and experiences
Essential Skills / Qualifications: Relevant engineering degree
