The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
We currently have a vacancy for a Project Engineer in our Stonehouse facility from where complete process analytical solutions are provided to a range of process industries - this includes analytical products, systems integration and analyser networks.

The project engineer is responsible for the project management and engineering of Analytical Systems Integration projects ranging from single analyser systems up to small-scale turn-key packaging or housing of process analysers and instrumentation to make them suitable for simple plant installation for a range of industries.

Responsibilities include:

- Handling all aspects of projects (technical and commercial) from receipt of order through to successful delivery to site
- Preparation of technical specifications, calculations, designs for CAD and documentation
- Interpretation of customer’s technical specifications
- Managing costs and schedules to ensure project delivered on time to budget
- Attending kick off, progress and project meetings (internal and with clients) as required
- Occasional assistance with in house and factory acceptance testing
- Liaison with other members of multi-disciplined department to ensure completion of entire design (sales, test, service, purchasing, workshop etc)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Technical: This is a multi-disciplined role and requires knowledge and experience of some / all of the following:

- Design of sample conditioning systems / process analyser systems including producing necessary calculations for sizing, selection of materials etc.
- Specification of process analysers
- Design of analyser housings (including requirements for signal and power distribution, safety systems, data hiways, small PLCs etc.)
- Many projects are for chemical, petrochemical or hydrocarbon processing industries and involve installation of equipment in hazardous areas to IEC codes so knowledge of ATEX guidelines would be useful. This role may suit someone with project engineering experience.
