The Role:Fircroft have been asked to source a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work in our clients Townsville Office.
• Work for a global EPCM company on major Mining projects
• Sunny Townsville location on a residential basis
• Long term contract opportunity
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will oversee mechanical design work rather than project engineering and act as the discipline technical authority.
Responsibilities:
• Preparation and technical review of design/engineering deliverables
• Active participation in project risk assessments and design reviews
• Active contribution to project quality control processes
• Acting as the technical focal point for mechanical technical queries and requests for information
• Active participation in Safety in Design and constructability reviews
• Leadership and mentoring of junior team members
Essential Skills / Qualifications:• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
• RPEQ registered or able to obtain
• Extensive experience as a Mechanical Engineer
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:• Solid background in coal / minerals processing and/or materials handling
