Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
To lead a cross-functional team working within a Module and to represent and co-ordinate the engineering activity within the Module. To ensure on-time delivery of specified project features to the agreed quality, cost and functional targets.

Key Responsibilities

Production and management of system and part by part delivery plans for areas of scope of work, including:

• Identify and plan key activities such as Bid Specs, B releases, tooling lead times, maturation times, chronological order and inter-dependencies to secure overall project delivery.
• Estimate and gain commitment to resources, budget and timescales to deliver the plans.
• Responsible for issue and change management of the plans

Delivery of the scope to functional, quality, cost and timing targets.

• Ensure appropriate processes, performance indicators and risk registers are in place and visible across all functions to enable quality, cost and delivery timing to be achieved and objectively measured and facilitate management action as appropriate.
• Expedite deliverables, manage risks and balance targets through routine processes and meetings.
• Work with Functional Managers and Senior Engineers to ensure that reported issues are being resolved and to anticipate and explore any other issues or blockages that may need addressing.

Manage an accurate and well-balanced view of project status, risks and issues, within the scope of work.

• Represents the S-Team and Module at project reviews.
• Accountable for ensuring pro-active awareness of project status.
• Accountable for being the single reference for project status at any time.

Represent Engineering activities within the Module scope of work

• Be the first point of contact for technical/engineering issues and liase with the technical functions as appropriate.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Appropriate experience of Automotive Engineering and Project Management working on vehicle projects.
• Proven track record of successful delivery of vehicle systems/features to functional, cost, quality and timing targets.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• A degree in appropriate Engineering dsicipline is highly prefered.
• Chartered Engineer status would be highly beneficial.
• A relevant Project Management qualification, or equivelant practical Project Management experience.
