The Company:
Our client is a leader in power and automation technologies based in Australia working on projects in Western Australia.

The Role:
As the SHEQ Advisor, you will be required to perform and understand the following:
• Demonstrate strong commitment towards SHEQ standards, management system and procedures
• Provide functional direction, promotion and guidance of SHEQ on site
• Assist with pre-start meetings, workplace inspections, risk assessment activities as required
• Monitor, coordinate, measure performance and report on site SHEQ activities and performance on site
• Assist with development, review and implementation of SHEQ initiatives, including processes, procedures and documentation
• Communicate and consult on SHEQ processes and procedures on site to ensure personnel understand requirements
• Ensure compliance to Power Systems’ Energising Safety requirements
• Monitor compliance of other SHEQ requirements and handle non-conformance issues according to relevant procedures
• Coaching site personnel, including our contractors, to achieve excellence in SHEQ
• Assist and guide site personnel to implement incident prevention activities
• Act as the SHEQ interface to contractors and clients as necessary
• Carry out and participate in audits as required
• Investigate incidents and assist with implementation of corrective actions
• Maintain a working knowledge of health and safety legislation, best practices and industry standards
• Provide training for personnel as required
• Research specific health and safety topics and issues as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Knowledge of relevant State / Territory OHSE Legislation
• Risk management understanding
• Incident management experience
• SHEQ Management System auditing experience
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS4801 & ISO 14001 requirements
• General training experience
• Communication, motivation and inter-personal skills
• Tertiary Qualifications in SHEQ, minimum Certificate IV in OHS
• Previous experience in heavy industry
• Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment
• Willing to travel and works on WA sites – roster to be pre-determined
