How long has Fircroft operated in the Netherlands?
After seeing substantial growth possibilities within the Netherlands, Fircroft opened their office in Rijswijk to develop the Dutch energy market. In addition, our local presence in Rijswijk enables us to support our main clients in the area in the best possible way. The Dutch office opened in June 2010 and over the past five years, our experience and knowledge within this area has considerably grown.
Our current client base includes both the owner and operator companies as well as the engineering and service companies. The Dutch business is mostly growing in the oil and gas industry and the office focuses on contract recruitment for all stages of a client's project.

What is it like living in the Netherlands?
The Netherlands continues to be an extremely popular destination with expats, as there are numerous job opportunities across a number of disciplines. Despite the fact the Netherlands is one of the smallest countries in Europe, it is one of the wealthiest and most economically stable. Locals are known for being extremely hospitable and friendly, and with so many expats coming to work in the country, there will always be someone happy to help show you around or tell you the best places to eat, visit and socialise.
In the Netherlands, you can find reasonably priced housing in most areas and we assist our contractors with accommodation issues and connect them with local housing agencies. There is health insurance
available to expats, as well as numerous language courses which can either be attended in the evenings or online if you would like to learn Dutch. Speaking Dutch is by no means essential if you are working here, however it can be advantageous if you will be speaking to locals. The majority of professionals in the Netherlands speak basic or intermediate English; nevertheless it may be beneficial for you to be able to communicate in Dutch in certain situations.
