Can the Mustang Mach-E deliver new case technology for Ford in 2020?

Can the Mustang Mach-E deliver new case technology for Ford in 2020?

Ford’s presence at CES 2020 is dominated by its all new- electric vehicle.

Ford’s controversial decision to put a Mustang on the front of a battery electric coupe – SUV kicked up more than just a little dust when it unveiled the Mach – E in November at the 2019 LA Auto Show.

The spec has been described as the ultimate symbol of modernisation, launching a new age of propulsion. However, others have been left baffled by the idea of inviting an electric, four – door family tourer into the same stable as the company’s iconic nameplate.

The Mach-E – derives its name from Mustang Mach 1 performance line of the late 1960’s and is a significant product for Ford as it is intended to take the automaker closer to where shareholders want it to be.

Ford has defended its decision to use the Mustang nameplate, underlining the Mach-E’s development by the Mustang team, and that, far from being a compliance vehicle, the Mach-E is a high-performance battery electric vehicle (BEV) offering on an all-new dedicated platform that both leverages and broadens the appeal of the Mustang marque.

Key Features:

Certain models will feature an acceleration of 0-60 mph in the 3.5 second-range via an estimated 459 horsepower and 612 lb-ft of torque.

A limited First Edition will be available, sporting extended-range all-wheel drive features, stylish red-colored brake calipers, metallic pedal covers, and signature seat stitching.

Standard, GT, and GT Performance Edition models will all be available for purchase.

“Phone as a Key” technology and access to over 12,500 plug-in charge stations thanks to the FordPass Charge Network.

The base Mach-E has a comfortable range of 230 miles on a single charge.
