Europe's first concrete printing centre opens

Europe’s first industrial 3D printing centre for concrete has opened in Eindhoven, Holland as the result of a partnership between Dutch contractor BAM Infra, materials company Weber Beamix and the Eindhoven University of Technology.
The new concrete printing centre will enable the technique to be scaled-up and commercialised for widespread use

The centre has opened with orders already on the books. Amongst the orders are several bicycle bridges for the province of Noord-Holland, and several houses for the Milestone Project.

Whilst 3D printing is currently a novelty in the world of construction, it is hoped that the new centre will enable the technique to be ‘scaled-up’, with the process running faster and the margin of error decreasing.

Overall, the centre is hoping to simplify the process and make it as simple as pressing ‘Ctrl-P’ and have the machinery set to work automatically, bringing your desired construction to life.
