Diversity in the workplace may be a hot topic of discussion, but it is an issue Fircroft is passionate about.
Michaella Rogers, Fircroft’s Regional Director for Australia, Singapore, and PNG runs a long-term forum which focuses on how businesses can achieve gender parity and the resultant benefits such a move can bring to the workplace.
The forum, Women in HR
, is a community born from Michaella’s quest to demonstrate the importance and value of elevating women in the workplace and promoting a culture of a blended workforce.
Through the Forum’s regular events, Michaella connects like-minded individuals as a means of empowering them to change the way they think and share ideas with the ultimate aim of sparking that inspiration which will lead to the creation of a more gender diverse workforce where the rewards are reaped both socially and economically.
There is a strong business case for creating a gender diverse workforce. Gender diversity is not merely an emotive subject, but can offer tangible results to your financial bottom line. By educating the unconscious bias of the advantages of equality at all levels, Women in HR
provides a platform for female HR professionals within the resource industry to understand the reality in which they currently work, and provide them with the tools to pave the way for a more lucrative way of doing business.
Despite being in its infancy, Women in HR
has already gained momentum with more and more HR professionals wanting to be a part of the community. Following the success of Fircroft’s series of Women in HR events in both Eastern and Western Australia, Michaella is now taking the Forum to the international stage, with the first ever Asian event taking place in Singapore on 25th February 2016.
In the upcoming event, Michaella will share statistics on female representation in the workplace, discussing the disparity that currently exists, inhibitors to progress and the economic benefits that can be gained from women in management positions.
This latest event heralds an exciting time for the Women in HR
forum. By addressing current affairs head on and taking the lead on encouraging change, Michaella is driving Fircroft forward as the industry innovator in encouraging both individuals and businesses alike to better achieve workplace gender equality.
But changing workplace cultures to benefit everyone and showing how diversity benefits all within an organisation is only the beginning. Taking action to shape and form the future is firmly on the Forum’s agenda.
With Ficroft’s global reach and Michaella’s motivation to reach out and help, the Women in HR
forum is set to have a positive impact locally and globally.
