In total, the fields are thought to hold over 500 billion cubic metres of natural gas.

Both discoveries, named the Dinkov and Nyarmeyskoye fields, were made by the COSL’s (China Oilfield Services Limited) Nan Hai Ba Hao semi-submersible drilling rig.

The Dinkov field is located in the Rusanovsky licensed block. According to Gazprom, the field is unique as it holds 390.7 billion cubic metres of recoverable reserves in the C1+C2 categories.

The Nyarmeyskoye field is located in the Nyarmeysky licensed block and holes a recoverable amount of 120.8 billion cubic metres in the C1+C2 categories.

Gazprom secured the subsurface use licenses for the two blocks in 2013, and have undertaken 3D seismic surveys covering 5,790 square kilometres leading to the drilling of two exploration wells in 2018.
