Gold Mine planned in Scotland

Scotgold Resources has submitted an application for planning permits for a commercial gold and silver mine in the Scottish hills, outside the village of Tyndrum.

Scotgold Resources plans to mine 23,500 ounces of gold outside Tyndrum

The company first launched an ore processing trial in August 2016 that successfully found their first pieces of gold. They’re now planning to expand to a full-scale mine that they hope will deliver around 23,500 ounces of gold each year, for up to 17 years.

At the time of writing, gold costs around £941.52 per ounce, so by Engineering Pro’s maths that comes to a total value of over £376 million buried in the Scottish moors.

Development of the first stage of the proposed mine is expected to cost around £360,000, and Scotgold has already offered nearly £500,000 to support the local community.

The proposal involves reopening an existing mine shaft and moving 170,000 tonnes of rock and mineral ore.

Planning is still to be approved, and there’ll be further approval required by the Park Authority, but if it goes ahead the production could create up to 52 jobs, and transform Tyndrum in to the latest gold rush town.

hello, I have been working in coal and diamond exploration. I have read about this embryonic project, It has really amazed me. The field has considerable potential and humongous deposits of gold. I would like to contribute my best in that field if it needed me.
