The Oil and Gas industry has become a driving force in takeover activity in Western Australia recently with $10 billion AUS of mergers and acquisitions taking place in the past 12 months.
Doubts exist surrounding the durability of the resources sector in the region, mainly due to the scrapping of major iron ore projects. However these high levels of investment within the oil and gas sector act as a clear indication of the long term interest for resource producers. But what is driving this investment?
Oil and Gas Fields
Home of the Gorgon, Browse LNG Precinct and Wheatstone projects, Western Australia has become a focal point of the Oil and Gas industry. Major operators are keen to be involved in the large oil and gas fields in the region so they can participate in the development of any future projects and are investing an estimated $2 billion AUS in petroleum exploration every year.
In order to make these investments become a reality, Operators require Subsea specialists and Construction Engineers followed by Commissioning Teams through to Operations & Maintenance personnel once these projects are completed. Companies in the exploration stage are also recruiting for Geologists and Drilling Engineers.
Through the Perth office Fircroft is able to support the recruitment needs of many of the major operators in Western Australia. Click here
