Oor Wullie joins the oil industry!

Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail is the first ever Scotland-wide public art trail. It has been on the streets of Scotland’s cities from the 17th June and is running for 11 weeks through the Summer with the aim of raising awareness and vital funds for Scotland’s children’s hospital charities.
Oor Wullie joins the oil industry!
Roughneck Wullie came from the North East's long association with the oil and gas industry.

Artist Catriona MacKenzie wanted to create a sculptural Wullie with a hat, and her design fits the brief and adds some humorous touches with the logos on his bright coveralls.

Hundreds of Wullies have been placed in cities across the country – painted in a range of designs in an attempt to stand out and raise cash for The Archie Foundation, which supports sick children all across the north of Scotland.

It is easy to get involved by:

  • Getting involved with your school and learning all about Oor Wullie and our heritage – find out more here.

  • Bidding on a sculpture in our auctions at the end of the trail.

  • Funds raised through the trail will support Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity,Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, and the ARCHIE Foundation, helping children in hospital across the country.
