Last week we asked our readers whether they would allow their employers to track them.

Technological advancements in fields such as big data analytics, communications capture, mobile device design, DNA testing, and biometrics mean that employers have more options than ever when it comes to monitoring and tracking employees. But the question is- should they be?
We asked EngineeringPro readers if they would let their employer track them. The answer was an overwhelming NO!
The answer from EngineeringPro readers was an overwhelming NO, with 89.29% of readers opposed to any form of workplace tracking.

Reader Andre Gurses, compared workplace tracking to the practice of microchipping dogs, responding that employers considering such a move should “take a cold shower”.

There were some of you who would be quite happy with some form of tracking however.
Only 10.71% of EngineeringPro readers agreed with the idea of employee tracking.
10.71% of EngineeringPro readers agreed with the idea of employee tracking, voting that ‘I would be happy for my employer to track my activities when I am in work’.
