This week NASA unveiled the first core stage of their SLS mega rocket, that is intended to take astronauts back to the moon by 2024 as part of the Artemis programme.

The rocket, built by Boeing, is taller than a 30 storey building and is the most powerful rocket ever designed. The core centrepiece was built in New Orleans and will now undergo comprehensive testing in Mississippi.

This is the first of many advances NASA is planning for 2020. In the video below the agency lay out their intentions for the rest of the year including commercial lunar science missions, plans for a quiet supersonic test plane and a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Hubble Telescope.
