Watergen introduces a fresh water tap for your car

Each year the Consumer Electronics Show sees some world changing technology unveiled that will find a unique solution to life’s little problems. This year that solution is the Watergen Automotive AWG system.

When you’re stuck in traffic, or you’re miles from the next service station, and you’re in desperate need of refreshment - the AWG system can provide.

A chilled water dispenser built in to the car will keep you refreshed, cool and comfortable through the longest car journeys.

The technology involved is actually ingenious, built from Watergen’s Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) design that is used on a larger scale to provide clean water to areas facing shortages.

The innovative system takes in and filters air before directing it through a GENiustm heat exchange and cooling process to condense it and create water. This water is then channeled through a multi-stage filtering system to remove impurities and purify it.

It’s then kept fresh in a continuously circulated reservoir until it is dispensed from car’s front console.

The system continuously creates fresh water on the go, so you can always stay hydrated without ever running out.

Though it might sound like nothing more than an added luxury, Watergen claim that usage of the system is an effective way of cutting down your carbon footprint. The reason for this is that with a handy tap right there, there’ll be no need to fill your cupholder with plastic bottles or fast-food cups. No more single-use plastic = a more eco-friendly experience that can also keep you healthily hydrated!

They also claim that the system will allow vehicles to run better by purifying, cooling and dehumidifying incoming air. Plus you have a steady supply for the onsite rinsing of dirty work equipment or cleaning sensors and engine parts.

In a world of smart-tech and connected cars, a cutting edge water dispenser may be the most important automotive development of the year.
