Booster Fuels, a Californian start-up, is attempting to make trips to the fuel station a thing of the past.

By operating a fleet of ‘mini-tankers’ Booster Fuels is able to deliver fuel directly to your car, saving you the time and hassle of the traditional fuel station errand.

User of Booster Fuels simply request a fuel top-up via a smartphone app and the fuel is delivered by one of the firm’s drivers and mini-tankers. The company claims that the price of fuel doesn’t differ much from what you would pay at a standard fuel station. In addition, Booster Fuels doesn’t charge a service fee.

The founder of Booster Fuels seem intent on revolutionising the way in which consumers buy fuel, describing their mission as follows:

“We exist to eliminate the gas station errand for everyone. We redesigned the standard supply chain, cutting out the expensive middlemen and real estate costs. With our model, we can deliver gas more affordably, conveniently, and sustainably than gas stations.”

“You may think that getting gas isn’t that big of a deal. For the most part, you’re right. It’s as easy as buying a book from your local bookstore or renting a movie from your corner DVD shop. Less fun perhaps, and twinge more stressful. But people waste three billion hours each year on the gas station errand. We’re giving this tired task a much needed update not only to save time, but also to save consumers and businesses money.”

Booster Fuels is initially setting its sights on corporate car parks.

Booster Fuels is initially setting its sights on corporate car parks. Already, corporate giants such as Facebook, Cisco, Oracle and eBay offer the service as an employee incentive.

To date, Booster Fuels’ mini-tankers have delivered more than five million gallons of gas. With Americans using a record amount of vehicle fuel last year, Booster Fuels can expect to be delivering many millions of gallons more fuel in the years ahead.

All of which begs the question, why go to the fuel station when the fuel can come to you?!
