LinkedIn and Microsoft team up to release Resume Assistant for Word

Posted by: Graeme Horton

LinkedIn has recently partnered with Office 365 to bring job seekers a new piece of technology to aid their job search. Resume Assistant is available for Office 365 subscribers on Windows and is designed to make creating a CV simpler and easier.

Resume Assistant capture

Create a unique profile

When using Resume Assistant, you have the ability to first choose your desired industry and specific role, LinkedIn then sources insights from matching member profiles to enable you to see how candidates in similar positions describe their work. This can provide a great advantage to a job seeker as they will learn new, innovative ways to portray their skills and experiences.

Not only does the software enable job seekers to browse similar profiles, it even provides the candidate with information regarding which skills other professionals in the industries and positions preferred by the applicant possess, as well as the job requirements from current job postings.

Browse opportunities

Once a full profile has been created, Resume Assistant will then display potential job opportunities which the applicant may be interested in. An application can then be submitted directly through LinkedIn, or make themselves more noticeable by turning on the tool 'Open Candidates', indicating to recruiters that the applicant is open to new opportunities.

Resume Assistant is available when the display language is set to English and the region is set to Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, or the US.

The new and exciting feature is set to roll out to other operating systems, regions and languages in the coming months.
