How we work with clients

Introduction:

Fircroft has worked with Bentley Motors since 1998, originally as one of a number of suppliers and since November 2001 on a Managed Vendor basis.
Our services are centered on Bentley’s Crewe facility in the North West of England. In order to manage such capacity an on-site office was set up in November 2001 and employs 2 Fircroft permanent staff. Our recruitment team based at the IRC (International Recruitment Centre) in Warrington supports the on-site office with all recruitment activity.
The scope of supply predominantly relates to design, engineering and manufacturing related disciplines but also extends to admin / purchasing / sales & marketing and accountancy. Part of our remit was to set up contract agreements with niche agency suppliers whose specialisms complement our own primary scope of supply.
Fircroft has been involved in 2 agency worker transitions since the contract began.

Challenges:

Bentley wanted to rationalise the way in which they procured Agency Workers. In June 2001 when they went out to tender, their aim was to reduce their current supply base of 30 to a single supplier for their Engineering division and subsequently extend to the whole of the Bentley site.

 

 

The following challenges were identified:

Transition 253 agency workers.
Reduce costs.
Introduce effective management processes.
Introduce innovative solutions.
Speed up processes.
Set up a supply chain of niche suppliers.
Solutions

To ensure the ongoing success of the contract, Fircroft implemented the following:

On-site account management and administration team.
Single point of contact for all recruitment related activity.
Building of close relationships with all relevant hiring managers to ensure complete understanding of Bentley’s business functions and requirements.
Integrated into Bentley’s systems to create a more efficient process.
Consolidated invoicing.
Set KPIs / SLA and monthly management reporting.
Monthly reviews including Bench marking and other value added process improvements.

Cost & Efficiency Achievements:

Fircroft launched an electronic time sheet platform, which has allowed Bentley to have real time visibility regarding spend against project, overtime pre-authorisation, accurate calculations through the automated process and swifter time sheet procedures.

A related benefit will provide alerts regarding the length of time the contractor has been on assignment plus ‘countdowns’ to the end of their order cover.

The overall cost savings provided by this programme by eliminating duplicate, missing or incorrect timesheets are estimated at an average of 2$ per annum of total spend for the programme.

Innovation:

In order to negate the risk of employment tribunals being taken against our clients by ASWs, Fircroft hold regular client (Hiring Manager) training courses. The aim of these courses is to give managers an understanding of the contractual nature of ASW services and how to conduct themselves in their day-to-day management and control.

Fircroft has implemented a cradle to grave recruitment model, which built around a stringent SLA and KPI system. This rigid process ensures that the delivery of the recruitment solution is as efficient as possible.

We have set up a client specific microsite linked into our main website in order to direct candidates to register their interest in working for Bentley. This proved highly successful for a specific recruitment drive that Bentley had on over a 6 month period.
