Rio Tinto approached Fircroft requiring the fulfilment of a key, high-profile role: Executive Assistant to Global CEO.

The Situation

48-hour turnaround required from both parties’ legal teams to sign off new Business Terms & Conditions.
Tight timescales for delivery of our recruitment services and start date for a successful applicant.
No hard or soft copy advertising was permitted throughout the recruitment process.
No disclosure of client name to the candidates was allowed until an interview request was confirmed.
Multiple client stakeholders in various time zones had to be regularly updated throughout the process due to the importance of the role.
Continually worked with a 9-hour time difference for a 3-month period (Fircroft London > Rio Tinto Perth, Australia).

Fircroft Solution
Fircroft London delivered a bespoke Search & Selection solution according to the client’s key requirements on a contingency fee basis:

Step1- Full talent mapping service of EA to C-suite at leading businesses across 3 sectors (50 names).
Step 2- Shared long list with client (25 names).
Step 3- Agreed short list with client (10 names).
Step 4- Fircroft’s Recruitment Consultant then interviewed all 10 applicants (including them signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement).
Step 5- Full written, interview feedback sent to client for all 10 applicants.
Step 6- Main Client stakeholder chose Top 6 for 1st round telephone interview.
Step 7- Senior Client stakeholder chose Top 3 for 2nd round face-to-face interview.
Step 8- CEO interviewed and offered the favoured applicant from the 2nd round interviews.
Step 9- Successful applicant accepted and started within agreed
