The Role:
As a process skill group which supports a very broad customer base, the technical support staff is uniquely positioned to influence/impact the development of innovative new process technology. The successful candidate will initially work in the one of the key technology program. Longer term, the role could involve support for other process development projects for a variety of companies and must, therefore be highly versatile in their skills and interest.

Responsibilities include:
• Preparation and execution of experimental programs in support of the project. This will include a range of bench-scale studies and may include:
o Investigation of the fate of key impurities, and by products in the process
o Catalyst testing
o Conduct experiments and analyze data for kinetic measurement
o toxicology and trace chemistry studies
• Interfacing with analytical lab regarding sampling/analytical needs along with associated methods/techniques, etc
• Assist in activities around customer sampling and data & information exchange
• Posting of results; detailed and accurate record-keeping of experiments.
• Data analysis and summary.
• Safe laboratory operation including participation in audits, management of chemicals, and upkeep of facilities.

● Developing and maintaining excellent customer relations.
● Working effectively across multiple businesses and processes and managing changing priorities.
● Multi tasking and interfacing with all the maintenance disciplines to accomplish facilities modifications.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Formal training at HBO level or equivalent
• Extensive laboratory experience with working knowledge of reaction chemistry, thermodynamics, and chemistry nomenclature.
• Interest in chemical processes and experimental work.
• Pro-active attitude towards safety and proven laboratory safety skills
• Executes the agreed experimental program and is responsible for the quality of the data produced with some level of supervision..
• Interprets results in the light of objectives and draws conclusions for critical discussion with program lead.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Has broad practical experience with various specialised equipment and/or laboratory-scale plant
