The Role:


Project Manager Job Purpose

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects under the Fircroft Project Methodology, ensuring the project finishes on time, stays within budget and meets the requirements of the business and is consistent with company strategy, commitments and goals

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Plan the project
Manage a team of people, incorporating project resources, subject matter experts & business stakeholders to:
* Define the scope & deliverables of the project
* Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
* Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
* Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, people, skills etc.) required to complete the project, in line with the plan
* Complete an initial assessment to define risks & assumptions that may affect the overall plan

Implement & control the project
* Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
* Manage internal & external resources and stakeholders to ensure the project is executed efficiently & according to plan
* Set up & maintain records & reporting to ensure the project follows required governance standards & quality checks
* Plan and schedule project timelines and monitor & report the progress of the project against the plan, making adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
* Monitor & control all spend within agreed budget, maintaining accurate financial reporting
* Maintain a log of all risks & issues & ensure these are managed appropriately to avoid impact on quality, time & cost
* Ensure the project is "handed over" into Business as Usual to allow successful operation & adoption - clarify completion criteria for each deliverable and develop acceptance plan

Evaluate the project
* Complete a post implementation review to report on the success of the project with respect to deliverables, timescales, budget and quality
* Produce recommendations & lessons for improvements & best practice
* Deliver a plan to evaluate the outcomes & benefits of the project as established during the planning phase

Education and Experience
* Previous experience as a Project Manager
* Qualification in project management preferred
* Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
* Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
* Experience in people management
* Experience in strategic planning
* Experience in risk management
* Experience in change management
* Proficient in project management software
