We currently looking for an experienced SQL & Power BI Developer to be based from our Warrington Head Office.

Reporting to the Head of Business Intelligence, the SQL and Power BI Developer will form part of an existing function that creates meaningful and insightful reporting and dashboarding content to the Business.
As the SQL and Power BI Developer, you will be part of a team of BI technical resource in adding value across all relevant projects, programmes and business as usual requirements - bringing a consistent, quality driven and best practice approach around Fircroft Business Data/Reporting needs.

* Working with immediate and wider peer group, bringing experience and expertise to BI development in Fircroft
* Managing BAU reporting service requests from the Business, either as ad hoc, small change or project based requirements
* Developing consistent, quality and continuously improving SSRS and Power BI content to support Business requirements
* Comprehensive ability to document technical BI deliverables as well as Business documentation
* Develop, deploy, maintain appropriate BI reporting content within SSRS and Power BI, putting into place relevant security, structure, processes and logic
* To adhere to and promote best practice principles and standards to drive consistent, relevant and high quality Business Intelligence at Fircroft
* Ensure that all BI BAU, projects and programme deliverables are evaluated and follow set standards, but keeping an eye on the big picture
* To be part of a team of technical resource to deliver BI solutions, ensuring quality and design excellence
* To continuously evaluate the relevant and suitability of technologies and provide recommendations and benefits to such tools
* Other relevant duties as required by head of department


* Significant (5 years plus) demonstrable experience delivering quality solutions with MS SQL BI stack (SSMS, SSRS), SQL Server Data Tools/BIDS and Report Builder
* Extensive experience in managing native SSRS environments, including but not limited to, deployment, structures, management, security and upgrades
* Experienced (2 years plus) in developing viable and engaging content with Power BI, utilising premium deployment models and Enterprise gateways
* As well as relational database report development, must have experience of utilising a star schema based data warehouse
* Practical experience of technical design surrounding end to end Business Intelligence solutions, optimising and tuning queries and stored procedures
* Ability to constructively contribute to data warehouse development, data marts, dimensional modelling and cube designs in OLAP and tabular model
* Comfortable interacting at all levels across the Business
* Passionate about the role and benefits of BI and reporting in a dynamic and complex business
* Experience as Power BI Capacity Administrator is desirable
* Exposure to Salesforce, MS Dynamics CRM reporting development or other cloud based solutions highly desirable
* Exposure to SSIS a significant plus as is SSAS development and exposure to APIs

Key Attributes and Experience

* Have a highly technical background and capable of applying relevant techniques and methods to drive a structured development lifecycle
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to accept and clearly articulate ideas, solutions, recommendations and concepts to all levels of colleagues via 121s, meetings and workshops
* Must have worked in a complex Business structure, deconstructing ideas/problems and present back to the customer in a productive and relevant way that they can understand, at an appropriate level of detail, taking account of cross functional Business & technical audiences
* Being open minded in solutions development, not afraid to constructively challenge the status quo to provide more appropriate and fit for purpose solutions
* Able to work collaboratively & be customer focussed, have strong interpersonal and networking skills, demonstrate sound facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills and establish and maintain solid, trusting relationships with project stakeholders at all levels, internal or external 3rd Parties
* High aptitude in ability to learn new concepts and technology quickly and demonstrate effective logical and lateral analytical / problem solving skills
* Be highly motivated, with the ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision and have a the vision to continuously improve
* Demonstrate creativity and use experience to challenge & influence customers of the suitability & adoption of proposed solutions - doing things right, not quick
* Flexible in approach to duties and requirements from the Business
* Be quality driven and take ownership of problems and issues and seek to proactively resolve them
