The Role:
A Global nuclear instrumentation and radiation specialist are looking for a dynamic Production Manager to join their team in Farnborough.

Planning, coordinating and controlling manufacturing processes, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient production of products and systems whilst maintaining a high health and safety expectation.
Consistently meeting the needs of customers, you will have a hands on approach and be KPI driven.

Ideally with a Six Sigma or Lean Methodology you will be directly responsible for the implementation of Lean/Kaizen approach in production and be the advocate for it across the UK business.

Key responsibilities will include all aspects of production including supply chain, manufacturing, testing and shipping.
This involves:

* Leadership of the production team including performance management and training & development. Creation of cross-functional skillsets and ensure training needs are addressed.
* Allocate resources effectively and fully utilise assets to produce optimal results
* Planning & organising production schedules (through use of the ERP system).
* Chairing regular S&OP meetings with the sales, projects & engineering and production teams
* Effective project management to ensure all tasks are delegated and effectively completed in a timely manner.
* Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions. Work closely with Quality Manager to maintain quality control standards.
* Develop systems and processes that track and optimise productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.

It is vital that the successful candidate has a passion for and a strong background in continuous improvement, with this role offering a unique opportunity for somebody to come in and implement their own ideas in order to drive the performance of the department forward.

The Company:
Our Client is one of the UK's leading suppliers of instrumentation for a diverse range of applications in the nuclear industry. Providing critical systems to detect, measure and analyse radiation to protect people, property and the environment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* 5yrs+ experience in a similar position
* Six Sigma or Lean Methodology background
* Minimum HNC/HND level in an electronics/mechanical engineering discipline.
* Experience in the use of ERP systems, preferably AX 2012
