The Role:
To be the principal point of contact for matters relating to health, safety and environmental management across the Division's UK operations. The HSE Advisor will be based at Warrington or the Harwell facility, part of which is a purpose built category 2 nuclear facility that contains Special Nuclear Material and Radioactive Material, all of which are classed as 'closed' sources under the Company's Environment Agency Registration. As such, the post holder will be identified as 'Safety Manager' in the Tenant Safety Requirements Baseline Statement.

Responsibilities
* To ensure compliance with the Tenant Safety Requirements at the Harwell facility (requirements detailed separately);
* To assist in the ISO14001:2015 and OHSAS18001:2007 certification programme;
* To ensure that all activities, related to health, safety and environmental management are documented in the Business Management System (BMS);
* To develop and maintain an internal audit programme for HSE and ensure that such audits are planned and resourced;
* To provide expert HSE and radiological protection advice to the senior management team and provide ad hoc assistance to the site leads located at Farnborough, Harwell, Warrington and Seascale.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety;
* TechIOSH membership;
* COSHH Risk Assessor;
* Lifting Supervisor training;
* Environmental management training (to a standard recognised by the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment);
* Radiation Safety for Managers (or similar) training;
* Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) training
* Experience in a nuclear power, research or decommissioning environment;
* Good working knowledge of ISO14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007;
* Trained and competent internal auditor.
