The Role:
Our client are looking for an attentive and experienced Bid Author to join their team in Bamber Bridge.

You will be responsible for the production of professionally written proposal content, which clearly articulates the organisations value proposition in line with agreed win themes and technical solution. The role will require you to work under pressure and to meet demanding deadlines.

Responsible to the Head of Business Winning for:
* Lead storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members and key stakeholders
* Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts
* Assist the Bid Lead in developing a proposal structure
* Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
* Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Bid Lead against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required
* Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, technical / product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery
* Ability to coach sales teams and subject matter experts in writing best practice
* Present all new proposal content to the knowledge base manager for potential re-use

To receive from others:
* A clear understanding of the required scope of supply (from the Bid/No bid team).
* Technical support from essentially involved functions.

The Company:
Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree, HNC or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
* Professional Writing Background.
* APMP Qualification (desirable).
* Training will be provided in the job specific skills that are required.
* Full UK driving licence

Other skills and competencies:
* Communicate and influence at a senior level
* Strong time management / prioritisation skills
* Strong written English language skills
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to coach sales teams and subject matter experts in writing best practice
* Knowledge of tender preparation process.
* Working knowledge of electronic data management (MS Office Excel, Word, Visio & PowerPoint).
* Assertive and confident in managing and directing a diverse team of people/skills.
* Delivery of internal Best Practice.
* Knowledge of Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
