We are looking for experience in the following:

* Minimum 4 years engineering experience (or 2 years if in nuclear or similar highly regulated industry).
* Track record in delivering against time, cost and quality.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
* Ability to interrogate 2D and 3D models produced by in-house design using various CAD software.
* Ability to support design through design phases, including attending customer meetings and testing activities.
* Ability to support design with risk assessments and residual risk.
* Experience developing design, analysis and engineering products through the following phases
o Study
o Conceptual Design
o Scheme Design
o Detail Design
o Manufacture Design
o Testing (including prototyping)
o Commissioning
o Client acceptance
* Appreciation of manufacturing, assembly and test techniques
* Ability to produce detailed stress calculations using Mathcad, to substantiate in house and customer designs.
* Ability to produce scheme, detail and manufacturing design calculation reports - including:
o Static calculations (i.e. lifting equipment, welds)
o Seismic calculations
o Dynamic calculations
o Fatigue calculations
o Ergonomic calculations
o Power transmission calculations (leadscrews, gearboxes and motors)
* Ability to import, operate and manipulate CAD models in Spaceclaim & ANSYS Design Modeller for analysis pre-processing.
* Ability to read, understand and work to both internal and external procedures and standards.
* Experience producing Engineering documentation in support of CE marking.
* Experience in producing documentation in support of applicable UK Regulations e.g. LOLER, PUWER, CDM etc.
* Experience in checking work done by others.
* Carry out detailed analyses using ANSYS including:
o Static structural analyses
o Dynamic structural analyses
o Dynamic impact assessments (blast tests/ drop tests)
* High competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
* Working knowledge of test procedures i.e. FAT, SAT and CE marking process.
* Producing static structural calculations (Classical Hand Calculations)
* Static and dynamic stress calculations to BS2573, BS5950, Eurocodes, DNV standards and customer standards as required
* Using British Standards, specifically BS 2573 (Crane Code)
* Worked in the Nuclear Industry or other equivalent highly regulated industry
