The Role:
Our client, the multinational chemical company is looking for a new Customs Compliance Co-Ordinator to join their office in Aberdeen area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Check the classification and valuation of goods, make sure the right commodity code is used,
* Adhere to shipping/receiving and regulatory-compliance procedures,
* Comply with laws, regulations and standards,
* Complete documentation such as pick lists, bills of lading, work orders and shipping orders using computer-based technology,
* Plan and co-ordinate transportation of materials and manage the timely flow of customer orders and with focus on accuracy, efficiency and time management,
* Provide and maintain good customer service and solve problems,
* Assist in preparation of audits/inspections both internal company and by external bodies,
* Liaise with Inside Sales Department and Warehouse personnel for special order requirements and shipping information,
* Assist with reporting to HMRC on Diversions to Home Use and Intrastat,
* Maintain HMRC records, both imports and exports,
* Address order flow or shipping delays and quality control issues, such as damaged or improperly packed goods,
* Dispatch freight for delivery and arrange for pickups,
* Advise on necessary licenses for import of restricted or hazardous goods,
* Record shipment / despatch data such as weight, charges and damages,
* Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue shipping instructions and delivery of materials,
* Prepare and submit documents which have to be filed to clear customs processes,
* Help to arrange correct payment of import duties and VAT as necessary.


REQUIREMENTS:


Degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management
Knowledge of tariff classification, valuation and origin,
Knowledge of import duties
Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office -Excel, Word, Outlook)
Working knowledge of ERP systems
Ideally we would be looking at people with some experience (2-3 years) preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
