The Role:
As a Design Engineer this is an opportunity to use and grow your professional experience in 3D technical design of piping, structure and packaged components, shaping the design of essential offshore equipment from detail to whole multilevel skids. Your competence with fluids processing, including separation, mixing, water treatment and sand handling will support your interface with our multi-discipline department (process, control and instrumentation, mechanical, design engineering, fabrication and project management).
With the guidance of the Senior Design Engineer and Engineering Manager your duties will include taking ownership of specific components design across multiple projects, active checking of own and others work, mentoring junior colleagues and chairing team meetings.

Your proven awareness of the commercial implications of design, draughting and engineering decision making, attention to detail, ability to support other team members, keen focus on delivery and the ability to turn client-driven requirements into profitable solutions will propel your expertise toward new responsibilities and challenges within the Design Team.

Duties & Responsibilities

*Overall responsible of 3D model creation and update, in compliance with client requirements, across the entire project
*Produce, check and approve Design Engineering documentation deliverables
*Ensure timely and thorough review of client specifications and communication of findings
*Participate in internal design review meetings being aware of commercial implications
*Ensure that internal checking and approvals procedures are adhered to
*Ensure that document numbering and revision control procedure is conformed to
*Preparation and checking of Technical Requisition documents for sub-vended engineering scope
*Assist in the preparation of Technical Requisitions for any 3rd party design review or verification
*Reviewing and recommending Subcontract/Sub-vendor quotes
*Review and respond to client comments
*Report any design changes which may have a cost or schedule impact to the relevant project personnel
*Attend and participate in client meetings always ensuring customer care is at the foremost position
*Contribute to the investigation, resolution and documentation of Engineering Queries in a timely and technically acceptable fashion
*Contribute to induction training
*Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritise and organise to ensure deadlines are achieved
*Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained and that customer care is foremost
*Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department
*Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy
*Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes
*Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times
*Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
*Travel as and when required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

*HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
*Experience in a similar position
*Working knowledge of Oil and Gas Process Technology
*Experience in coordinating a multidiscipline team
*Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Autodesk Suite, Plant 3D).
*Working knowledge of design for pressure vessel, piping, structural, process and C&I
*Ability to chair meetings.
*Understanding of engineering documents and drawings
*Have an understanding of principal software in use for 3D modelling, vessels design, stress and structural analysis, process & C&I design.
*Problem solving approach to issues.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

*Tertiary education in an Engineering discipline
*Experience in a Notified Body
*Liaising Experience between engineering and manufacturing
*Engineering or Designer Background Experience
*Have an understanding of common place industry materials and their application
*Knowledgeable of PED and its application
*Have an understanding of NACE
*Have an understanding of NORSOK standards
*Have an understanding of ATEX & IEC requirements
*Capability to take sound and auditable technical decisions autonomously when necessary
*Capability to recommend remedial actions and alternative options
