The Role:
Well Completion Engineer
Purpose & Accountabilities:
The Well Completion Engineer's primary role is the detailed design, planning, preparation, execution and evaluation of well completions, workovers and interventions for onshore and offshore oil and gas opportunities operated by the Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij B.V. (NAM). The Completion Engineer will be a member of the Wells Department and work within one or several multi-disciplinary project teams comprising Well Engineering, Well Intervention, Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Technologists, Front End Engineering, Projects, Process Engineering and Production Operations. Key accountabilities include: 1) Develop and optimize conceptual and detailed completion designs for new and existing oil and gas wells. 2) Identify, select and specify completion equipment and accessory components. 3) Ensure appropriate company standards are applied during design, planning and execution. 4) Develop completion, stimulation and hydraulic fracturing operational programs. 5) Conduct Complete Well On Paper events and ensure programs are compliant with regulatory requirements and reviewed by Well Examiners. 6) Support execution of completion and stimulation operations, including 24/7 support during rig operations. 7) Deliver towards incident free (Goal Zero), best-in-class well performance. 8) Work closely with key stakeholders to meet the business plan including HSSE, cycle time, cost and production targets. 9) Deliver top performance through best practice sharing, delivery of performance improvement plans, new technology staircases and other performance improvement initiatives.

Bachelor degree acceptable with relevant experience. Minimum 8 -10 years relevant experience, including completion design, interventions, hydraulic fracturing and coil tubing. Round 2 certification/diploma IWCF: not required. Well Engineering design software skills, including WellCat, torque and drag analysis, CTU modeling. Candidate will ideally have previous supervisory experience at any level either in an offshore or onshore environment. The department is split up into Completions & Well Intervention (CWI) and Well Engineering (WE). WE is mainly involved in design, planning and construction of new wells, workovers and sidetracks on existing wells and abandonment of wells whereby a drilling rig or hydraulic work over unit is used. The number of wells/activities ranges from 5 - 20 per year. There is a broad range of well types and various degrees of complexity. The current outlook is that NAM Wells department will run an average of 2-3 units spread across onshore and offshore. This may include geothermal operations as well. The department size is continuing to support NAM's transition into becoming a late life operator, meeting energy demand on- and offshore, forcing NAM to become more competitive, lean and Fit4Future. At the same time, NAM is developing and investing in successful longer term business models for energy transition solutions as part of NAM's portfolio.
