THE OPPORTUNITY - Senior Category Manager

Working within the Procurement team, and with senior internal stakeholders and external third parties, this role continuously seeks to improve value delivery through a framework of Category Management, ensuring that Procurement is perceived as a positive, significant, value adding integral partner to the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to deliver real value add to the organisation as part of a busy and dynamic team.

AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT…

o Provides a deep knowledge and understanding of end to end Category Management within the Operations and Maintenance category
o Works as a partner with business stakeholders to understand and support delivery of their needs
o Undertakes category and project-related assessments to generate innovative opportunities and robust strategic sourcing plans
o Identify opportunities for, lead and evaluate competitive tenders and proposals for the supply of goods and services negotiating with suppliers on all commercial and contractual matters and applying judgement as to what constitutes an acceptable level of contractual risk and supply resilience
o Understand the category and provide leadership and insight for the business on all aspects of market dynamics, regulatory framework, suppliers and technical innovations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
ABOUT YOU

o Robust technical knowledge is key - MBA or Bachelor's with a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Finance is preferred.
o Comprehensive knowledge of end to end Category Management including market insight, business partnering, negotiation, on-going supplier management and governance relating to operations and maintenance subcategories.
o Understanding of general and contract law, and applications of LOGIC models
o Demonstrable track record of leading complex contract negotiations
o Detailed understanding of operations and maintenance categories
