The Role:
The primary purpose of the Senior Pipeline Engineer is to safeguard the integrity of company pipeline facilities, including:
o Being a subject matter expert in the 'pipelines' discipline and act in the 'EA2' position.
o Ensuring that the risks associated with Major Accident Hazards are fully understood, and that they are effectively managed.
o Implementing all Inspection, Test and Maintenance (ITM), routines associated with pipelines and associated equipment.
Senior Pipeline Engineer - What will your new role involve?
o Work towards Asset Integrity team and company goals.
o Primary point of contact for the relevant asset with regard to all pipeline issues.
o Define, manage and control the budget for activities associated with pipeline integrity. Work with the IRM team to ensure all vessel budgets are in place.
o Ensure safe and timely implementation of pipeline programmes' in accordance with Asset Integrated Activity plans (90 day and 28 day).
o Ensure timely analysis of inspection results and specify appropriate remedial actions, following through to timely completion and close-out.
o Implement asset integrity Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), to demonstrate regulatory and internal compliance, measurement of 'risk' and complimentary to maintenance management metrics.
o Develop inspection philosophies and optimise risk based inspection programmes based on inspection results.
o Review failures associated with Pipelines systems, equipment / SCEs and lead or participate in associated investigations / Root Cause Analysis.
o Carry out regular assessments of the condition of the pipeline systems to confirm continued "fitness for purpose".
o Ensure appropriate levels of maintenance and testing are carried out e.g. ESDV testing.
o Assurance to the Leadership of the ongoing integrity and safe operation of the pipeline systems through integrity assessments and audit.
o Monitors and ensures compliance with the Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS).
o Primary point of contact for third party pipeline interface projects and support.
o Ensures compliance with industry best practice and endorse any 'deviations'.
o Advise on the use of appropriate standards, practices and design guidelines.
o Ensure technical conformity and compliance with legislation, EU directives and company engineering standards.
o Input to key project standards and designs as required.
o Manage pipeline support contract(s).
o Responsible for the preparation of monthly and annual pipeline technical integrity reports.
o Ensure timely closure of all assigned actions e.g. MyHSE, ICP, audit, Improvement Plan actions etc.
Senior Pipeline Engineer - Essential Knowledge and Qualifications
o The job holder must possess strong operational knowledge of the upstream or other high hazard industry.
o Educated to degree level with Incorporated / Chartered Engineer status.
o Significant experience in engineering and operations.
o Significant experience within pipeline engineering; RBI programmes, intelligent pigging, pipeline seabed surveys.
o Track record of continuous professional development.
o Demonstrates visible leadership; Carries out frequent personal and process safety oriented site visits which engage the workforce and contractors. Listen actively and seek for early warnings
o Conversant with UK regulatory environment, standards and industry best practice.
o Strong communication and networking skills.
o Highly developed influencing and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and external regulatory bodies.
o Visible advocate of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
o Effective financial management of budget and costs.
