The Role:
Role Overview:
Responsibilities: Ensure procedures are adhered to and are delivered on time to the highest quality and safety.

Planning & Programming: To work alongside the Senior M&E Construction Manager to regularly review the progress of the works ensuring that adherence to the target programme dates are maintained - including the preparation and maintenance of fortnightly look ahead programmes.

* Preparation of Site Management plans.
* Reviewing and approval of subcontractors site documentation including but not limited to; Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Installation programmes, Test and Inspection documentation.

Supply Chain Management:
* Produce daily, weekly and long term delivery plans.
* Understand the contractual arrangements of the project.
* Plan and integrate with key contractors to meet the needs of the target construction schedule.
* Be capable of managing sub-contractors to deliver their package of goods or services.
* Variation control and early communication of foreseeable change.
* Record keeping.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
* Programme Support.

* Organise resources to enable contract deadlines to be achieved.
* Organise resources to work additional hours as required to meet project deadlines (e.g. extended site hours if required by client).

* Deliver robust, informative site specific inductions.
* Ensuring the organisation's safety policies are followed.
* Ensure first aid cover and equipment is present.
* Management and control of all site activities ensuring that all work is undertaken in a safe and timely manner in accordance with all Safety, Health and Environmental legislation, all relevant contractual timescales and all relevant contract specifications.
* Complete safety inspections to company and client standards.

Site Communications:
* Update site safety performance and key project indicators to pre-agreed frequency.

Delivery Management:
* Liaison with the client's operational staff to ensure work is undertaken in accordance with construction schedule and clients' site requirements.
* To ensure all required site documentation is completed, including but not limited to; Daily diary sheets, Daily allocation sheets, Records of delays and changes, including the financial implications, All relevant Safety, Health and Environmental documentation, Records in respect of Subcontractor progress and performance.
* To undertake Site Inductions and regular Tool Box Talks for all resources visiting and working on the site.
* Coordination and liaison with suppliers, site installation and construction teams.

Vehicles, Plant, Equipment and Transport:
* Ensure vehicles and plant are operated safely by trained personnel and in a legally compliant manner.
* Ensure all equipment is inspected, maintained and tested to agreed frequencies.
* Have knowledge of hoists and cranes, and create and agree booking system to manage their capacity.

* Actively police compliance with site rules.

* Ensure supervisors provide and record 'Tool Box Talks' to workforce.
* Ensure operatives are assured of their roles and responsibilities.
* Ensure competencies of own team are demonstrable.

* Ensure Safety, Health and Environmental monitoring is completed.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Desirable skills and competencies:
* M&E site management experience - ideally in hospital construction work (new build or refurb).
* An industry applicable ONC or City & Guilds / NVQ equivalent.
* Relevant H&S qualifications (IOSH or CITB 2 Day Site Safety Supervision, relevant CSCS card and First Aid training).
* Well-developed time management and organisational skills.
* Proactive approach to dealing with clients and/or suppliers.
* Ability to work with established processes in a logical manner, but also to adapt these as appropriate in specific situations.
* IT skills (e.g. PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel).

Beneficial Qualifications:
* CSCS (essential)
* SMSTS / SSSTS (essential min one)
* working at height/scaffold awareness qualifications (not essential)
* First Aid at work (essential)
* A suitable qualification.
