The Role:
Our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who aspires to be part of a team, delivering powerful results. They are looking for innovative ideas and an agile approach to delivering the best possible outcomes and offer you an opportunity to progress and thrive by working collectively and making an active contribution. Join the collaborative team, working side by side with a global specialist chemicals company on a new and innovative project in the growing Lithium resources market to design, engineer and construct a world class processing facility. Your responsibilities will include:

* Prepare deliverables of the discipline design section in line with the needs of the customer and regulatory authorities
* Responsible for production of engineering deliverables including HAZOP, models, milestones, peers, drawings, calculations, specifications, reports and evaluations
* Ensure that information flow to drafting and other disciplines serves to maximise output
* Provide technical support to the onsite construction teams, projects department and estimating department
* Review and approve vendor data and oversee design scope changes
* Perform site inspections, functionality testing and commissioning documentation
* Analyse feedback from fabricators and construction personnel to improve performance

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Member of Institute of Engineers Australia, or willing to work toward membership
* Extensive experience, ideally in the mining industry
* Knowledge of process/chemical engineering unit operations
* Demonstrated technical engineering knowledge
* Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
* Ability to problem-solve effectively
* Ability to identify risks and work safely
* Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spread sheets and engineering programs
* Understanding of Australian and common International standards and regulatory authority requirements in the relevant processing sector
* Demonstrate a commitment to HSE, working in accordance with method statements and risk assessments as provided
* Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
