The Role:
Our Client requires an experienced Site Manager with strong Leadership capabilities and a team focus to deliver powerful results on a Processing Plant Project.

The greenfield project targeted to go into production in 2021 with plans to expand in 2025. The initial contract is till October 2021. The plant is located near Bunbury, therefore the right candidate for the role must live in vicinity or have the ability to relocate for the length of the contract.

The objective of this position is to oversee and manage the construction site and enable the respective Area Delivery Manager to construct and commission work areas in accordance with site HSSE requirements, the contract, the scope of work, specifications, quality, progress and manning levels.

Job specifications:

  • Overall responsibility for day to day site management, safety, environmental management and industrial relations.
  • Administration of a site contract to ensure compliance with the contract agreement, scope of work, specifications, quality, progress and manning levels.
  • Review of EPCM project site organisation to ensure the appropriate team.
  • Ensuring that the HSSE project plans are executed.
  • Daily communication with direct reports to ensure construction support services are maintained e.g craneage, scaffolding, material management, site facility management, quality support, site administration.
  • Ensure effective utilisation and management of plant, equipment scaffold resources.
  • Monitoring of the overall construction progress, project schedule and critical path activities.
  • Ensuring timely submission of weekly progress reports to Client
  • Liaise with delivery managers to understand priorities to ensure project services support
  • Oversee the contractor's progress to ensure it is in line with the project schedule
  • Ensure the contractor's works are as per the project quality plan
  • Conducting weekly site meetings with the direct reports and Area Delivery Managers
  • Regular communication with client site based representative on project related matters
  • Maintain a detailed daily diary recording all matters pertaining to the contract, including instructions given, the days work areas, problem areas, safety issues, industrial relations issues, client discussions
  • Ensuring the recording of all "as built" information in accordance with the requirements of the Contract
  • Provide management support for the commissioning and completions team once they have mobilised to site

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years' experience in the construction industry
  • Ability to schedule and multitask
  • Good problem solver
  • Knowledge of safety and industrial relations and commitment to compliance
  • Knowledge and experience in working in remote locations
  • Ability to articulate and exemplify the purpose and ethos of the organisation
  • Thorough knowledge of and hands on experience with construction practices
