The Role:
Our client is looking for a Buyer to support the Australian Business Unit's performance through development of collaborative relationships with Suppliers, SCM and Operations stakeholders that facilitate simple, efficient, on time and cost-effective procurement of materials in support of Asset Operations.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Conducts all purchasing activity in accordance with Corporate Contracting and Procurement Policy 500 and 190
* Reviews processes and approves purchase requisitions as required to support the Asset or work scope assigned
* Works closely with Inventory Control to source high priority inventory and direct purchase materials for various work scopes as required. This may include materials for base business work orders, campaigns, turnaround events or MC projects) as required
* Monitors requisition pipeline and assess workload priorities to actively manage critical demand, high risk items with the vendor freight forwarder as required to meet the operational start date
* Engages vendor and technical support to resolve Procurement Queries (ensuring the material sourced meets the customer requirement)
* Engages vendor and technical support to resolve assigned Material Non-Conformances (NCR's)
* Actively monitors assigned vendor performance and engage the vendor representatives, contract owner and contract advisor to conduct contract performance reviews drive performance and process improvements
* Assists customers with advice on the Procure to Pay process (e.g. how to use Ariba for creation of ad-hoc direct charge PR / SR's)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Experienced buyer with demonstrated technical competence in sourcing, negotiation and vendor management within the Oil & Gas or related industry
* Strong Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to communicate, collaborate and influence effectively with a broad range of stakeholders across SCM and Operations teams (of varying technical and mgt levels)
* Flexible, able to handle pressure and deliver results
* Ability to identify, focus and execute on activities that deliver the most value whilst adjusting positively to competing priorities, spikes in workload and changing schedules
