The Role:
The Cost Engineer will join a project Cost Team working closely with the Lead Cost to ensure established accounting processes, systems, and procedures are followed.

The Cost Engineer needs to host variance and forecast review meetings, support implementation of Project Control Plan, and support overall cost control analysis.

This is a 12 month contract based in Perth working 9 hour days + 1 hour unpaid lunch with a CWW on offer.

Key Job Responsibilities:
* Coordinate Value of Work Done (VOWD), Performance Measurement, Forecasting, CE-MOC and all Cost Control activities for the assigned FEED scope packages
* Provide Contractor's oversight of assigned work packages ensuring costs are monitored
* Participate in weekly and monthly meeting with Contractors and Package leads, guiding the team in all cost related issues for assigned packages
* Manage budgeting and cost control activities for assigned minor packages
* Support monthly evaluation of overall cost performance (S-curve, productivity, indirect man-hour ratio, CPI, SPI), analysis of trends, project cost extrapolation and provide forecasting insights to highlight issues and concerns
* Support the development of Owner Cost Class 3 Estimate and its Basis of Estimate (BoE) to be used for Estimate and Schedule Assurance Reviews (ESAR) and generation of Owner Cost Model for Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis (CSRA)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Cost Control Experience and Proficiency in Oil & Gas with significant experience in Upstream Major capital projects (MCP)
* Experience performing cost engineering roles and controlling contractors during FEED and Execution.
* Experience in Brownfield and Subsea Installation scopes is a plus
* Demonstrated knowledge of IIF, OE-HES and commitment to lead IIF initiatives on an MCP
* Demonstrated technical skills in: maintaining project controls systems, generating cost reports on regular basis providing early warning of trends and forecasts, generating accurate Value of Work Done (VOWD) and reconciliation with Actuals, supporting a comprehensive cost management system (KCM) and complex cost spreadsheets
* JDE and Ariba experience a plus
* Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
