The Role:
Reporting into the Completion Engineering Advisor, Drilling Superintendent and the D&C Engineering Manager you will be responsible for designing, planning and executing the permanent plug and abandonment of oil wells in compliance to Company and legal standards.

Perth based role working in a medium sized team working 8 hour days, 5 days a week for an initial 12 month contract with possibility of extension.Occasional field supervision as relief for Well Work Supervisor and ad-hoc field trips to support execution of the work program are an expectation of this role.

The job would best suit someone with a combination of technical knowledge and operational experience in rig-based and rig less abandonment techniques.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Liaise with team members to review well candidates
  • Develop a P&A short-list based on risk and job complexity
  • Deliver of detailed work over and intervention procedures for the P&A wells ensuring the program is compliant with company technical standards
  • Responsible for preparing, conducting or participating in risk assessments, and the identification, preparation and stewarding of MOC's to technical standards
  • Preparation of detailed time and cost estimates for the work program and tracking actual cost versus budget
  • Logistics planning and liaison with Supply Chain Management to ensure equipment and services are available when needed and utilised cost-effectively
  • Preparation of Regulatory applications and notices, and communication with the Regulator

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified with extensive experience as a Drilling/Completion Engineer
  • Oil and Gas Industry experience particularly with workover/well servicing rigs
  • Thorough understanding of well barrier philosophy
  • Perth based candidate with valid Australian working rights
