The Role:
This global Oil & gas organisation are looking for a marine communications officer to work on a 28/28 roster site based.
The role is made up of three components:
- 60% Marine Communications Operator;
* Co-ordinate marine communications and reporting requirements in accordance with Harbour Masters Operating Requirements, company operating procedures and the Operational Excellence Management System.
* Provide a 24/7 communications service for the port.
* Be conversant with standard maritime vocabulary, possess the required qualifications and be competent to be a VHF Marine radio operator for marine operations.
* Monitor the movement of all marine vessels in the general vicinity of, and within, the Port.
* Understand end to end process of WA Oil and marine activities while operating in the Port
* Have a general understanding of meteorological terminology including monitoring and forecasting.

35% Shipping Officer:
* Understand the End-to-End Process for LNG and Condensate ship loading and inter-departmental responsibilities for each stage of the process
* Assist in management of product (LNG and Condensate) exports by:
o Monitoring of product quality to ensure shipments are within required product specifications (EC, Surveyor reports)
o Co-ordination of pre-loading activities to ensure that facility is ready to export product as/ when required
o Management /on-site interface for 3rd parties including, but not limited to, the following
This will require physically escorting 3rd party personnel whilst on-site ensuring their timely attendance at key points during the loading process. Incumbent will be required to hold a full (manual) driving license.
o Monitoring of LNG & Condensate tank levels in particular to ensure that product is available to load as per shipping schedule

5% Emergency management
* Appropriately respond to vessel emergencies within the Port
* Manage vessel operations on activation of the Cyclone demobilization process and gather relevant information pertaining to vessel departure and expectations.
* Co-ordinate with Island EMT for ALL emergencies.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Must have previous experience in a similar role
- Marine Operational background, Marine commercial background ( Oil Spill response)
- Multitasking ability
