The Role:
* Responsible for the routine operation of systems, process and/ or utility facilities and equipment on the facility.
* Follow routine procedures and initiate correct methods for developing non routine procedures in area of responsibility.
* Expected to work independently or as part of a team according to task requirements.
* Participate in peer work reviews.
* Responsible for ensuring that procedures are followed to ensure safe operation of the plant.
* Responsible for the safe preparation of the plant for maintenance activities and return to service after maintenance.
* Responsible as Area Authority and/or Field Checker for permits (under PTW system) in area of responsibility.
* Demonstrate and practice team behaviours and teamwork skills.
* Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with team members and supervisors
* Complete handovers clearly and logically using "pro forma" documentation and communicate plant conditions accurately
* Give some limited work direction and training to less experienced Production Technicians
* As directed, relieves for operational or training needs within area of competence.
* Ensure plant reliability and integrity are maintained and protected by vigilant monitoring of equipment in line with the commitments made as part of the safety case performance standards and Operator Routine Duties.
* Work with other members of the Operations Teams to ensure maintenance and production schedules are maintained.
* Carry out maintenance tasks as allocated via the planned maintenance schedule that falls with competency level.
* Report all parameters / conditions found outside normal operating guidelines to the Maintenance Coordinator
* Ensure guidelines, standing instructions and procedures are understood and adhered to.
* Comply with the Permit to Work system
* Be fully conversant with CMMS to be able to use the systems to execute work and ensure history data is entered and maintained.
* Continually monitor and seek to improve the team's performance, suggest where appropriate and implement cost saving to ensure the effective control of the maintenance budget
* Validate plant maintenance routines and procedures and suggest changes to the systems if required.
