The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Permit to Work Technician to join a leading, global Oil & Gas operator. An exciting opportunity has become available for a driven PTW Technician to join an established project team, this role will be reporting directly to the company site HES Superintendent. The successful applicant will be a high calibre, technically competent and experienced LNG, Chemical, Gas Plant PTW & HES professional. This specific type of experience will be highly regarded in this instance.

The position on offer is a skilled and specialised role that significantly influences the day to day construction, commissioning & operation of the overall plant production, inclusive of initial start-up, and assists both Production Technicians and Control Room Technicians during upset conditions of the facility.

Key responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
25% HES
* The Permit to Work (PTW) Technician is a central figure in the PTW process with delegated responsibility for the safe control of work activities in accordance with PTW procedures and the overarching principles of Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS).
* To assist in the development and promotion of an Incident Free Operations (IFO) culture by active participation in the implementation and validation of work and safety procedures as well as participate in site safety meetings.
* Ensure that commissioning, startup and operation's activities adhere to all safety and environmental regulations in accordance with safety procedures and statutory requirements.
* Conduct HSE and permit to work compliance audits.
* Contribute to incident / accident / production loss investigations.
* Respond to plant upsets and emergencies in a manner consistent with procedures and accepted practices.
* Be an active HES "ambassador" and maintain a visible adherence to the companies Tenants of Operation Excellence and IFO Principles.
* Active participant in OSPREY hazard identification processes and other HES initiatives as they arise.
* Assist in the generation and development of Manage Safe Work (MSW) documentation that supports the application and execution PTW inclusive of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
* Comply with ER team responsibilities in emergency situations where competent.
* Active member of the facility Emergency Response Team where tasked.

25% Incident Free Production Operations :
* Administer company's PTW process in accordance with defined authority levels, thus ensuring safe secure plant construction, start-up, operation and maintenance.
* Be a site focal point for day to day execution of the PTW system.
* Ensure adherence to MSW and SIMOPS practices.
* Ensure adequate handovers take place to ensure seamless transition of site PTW activities inclusive of update on site conditions and status.
* Provide support as required for problem solving of BET construction, commissioning, start-up and operational tasks.
* Ensure that all people involved with unit commissioning, start-up and shutdown are familiar with the plan details as required to support the permit system.
* Coordinate and execute the safe isolation/de-isolation of equipment as directed.
* Maintain a focus on plant technical integrity management program by ensuring equipment is maintained in line with safety case performance standards and tasks are completed within quality and schedule expectations.

25% Managing Personnel & Competencies

* To advise and/or train staff and contractor personnel on the Permit to Work process, promoting greater awareness and safe operation of the system in alignment with the overarching principles of SIMOPS.

* Manage own development;
O Undertake all required emergency response and HES functional training requirements identified for position description.
O Identify individual training opportunities which may be of benefit to individual and are flexible to the organisational requirements.
O Timely execution of agreed training and development plans.

* Manage own performance;
O Achieve goals set and in line with the expectations of the PTW Supervisor.
O Deliver measurable results for assigned tasks that meet minimum quality requirements.

* Manage team development;
O Actively contributes to development and training of peers within areas of competence / speciality.
O Give detailed feedback on the performance of peer team members.

* Provide support to the BET & Production Superintendents during Phase 4 activities with a focus on developing and maintaining the operations systems required for safe plant operation.
* Participate in the development of the Operations processes and procedures required for commissioning, safe startup and continued operations.
* Work with the Operations Teams to help deliver training programs in assigned area of expertise
